Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Breakfast & Remembrance March

The Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration Committee of St. Johns County hosts the 34th Annual Commemorative Breakfast and Remembrance March on Monday, January 21, 2019, in downtown St. Augustine. These events celebrate the memory of Dr. King and the great influence he had in the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964.
The Commemorative Breakfast will take place at the Mark W. Lance Armory from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. The theme this year is taken from one of Dr. King's speeches: "Out of a Mountain of Despair, a Stone of Hope." The featured speaker will be Dr. Chester L. Wilson, Jr. The cost to attend the breakfast is $30.00 per person, and tickets can be purchased here.
The silent Remembrance March departs from St. Paul's AME Church (86 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.) at 11:45 a.m., proceeds to King Street and then to the Plaza de la Constitución, where the commemoration will continue with presentations and speakers until 2:00 p.m. Minister Jarvis James of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church will be the featured speaker.

Admission: The Remembrance March and the commemorative event at the Plaza are FREE. The Commemorative Breakfast is $30.00 (see above).
When: Monday, January 21, 2019. The commemorative breakfast will be from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. The march and commemoration at the Plaza will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: The Mark W. Lance Armory is located at 190 San Marco Avenue in St. Augustine, FL 32084. Procession begins at St. Paul's AME Church at 86 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in Lincolnville and proceeds to the Plaza de la Constitución on King Street.
