Sunday, October 27, 2019, 2 – 5 p.m.
Ancient City Tours hosts their annual free Halloween Costume Contest on Sunday, October 28, 2018, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The contest will take place at their offices at Frazier Plaza in the North St. George Street area. After the contest, families are welcome to join in the trick-or-treating at participating shops on St. George Street.
The costume contest is divided into age groups: Infant-Toddler (ages 0-4), Child (ages 5-12), Teen (ages 13-16), Adult (ages 16 and over), and Family. The contest judging begins with the youngest group at 2:00 p.m, and trophies for each category are awarded.
After each category is judged, the entrants and their families are free to go trick-or-treating up and down St. George Street and the historic district, where many of the shops have treats on hand for the kids. This is the 14th annual Halloween Costume Contest and Merchant Trick-or-Treating, and is a very popular Halloween event in downtown St. Augustine.
There are numerous downtown merchants who take part in this trick-or-treating event and who look forward to seeing everyone's costumes. Participating shops are marked with orange and black balloons on their doors.
