The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department invites military veterans to enjoy a morning of fishing with their family on Wednesday, December 23, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Usina Boat Ramp in Vilano Beach.
This hands-on event provides veterans and current and former first responders the opportunity to enjoy on-shore fishing with family members. A knowledgeable fishing guide helps participants enjoy the day. The event offers fishing techniques and an opportunity to fish in a supportive and relaxed environment. This event is free and open to military veterans and former or current first responders, who are encouraged to bring one or more family members.
Bring your own fishing gear if you have it; the guide will have equipment you can borrow. You must have a valid shore saltwater fishing license unless you are older than 65. Children younger than 16 do not need a license.
