Whitney Lab 5K

The University of Florida's Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience presents the Whitney Lab 5K on Sunday, April 14, 2024, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the River to Sea Preserve Trails. Celebrating Whitney Lab's 50th anniversary, this race raises money for the lab's Gift Fund. The proceeds help fund community lectures, educational initiatives, facility improvements, and public events.

Participants will run or walk through the Matanzas Hammock Loop trail, completing three laps. The event will also feature a fun run for kids after the main race, on approximately 0.4 miles of the Scrub Loop.

Carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking spaces. For those driving, complimentary parking is available at the following locations:

• Near the finish line
• River to Sea Preserve Parking near the beach
• The DEP Marineland Field Station
• The public parking area at Whitney Laboratory (about 1/2 a mile from the starting line)

Register now because this race is limited to only 200 in-person participants!

Registration: Participants can register for either the in-person or the virtual race. Registration costs between $30.00 and $45.00, depending on registration date. Packet pickup is from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on race day.

Where:  River to Sea Preserve Trails at 9805 Ocean Shore Boulevard, St. Augustine.
