X106.5 BBQ: Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday
Sunday, May 19, 2019, 5:20 p.m. at St. Augustine Amphitheatre
Jacksonville’s X106.5 hosts their annual BBQ, featuring Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday in a live concert at The Amp (formerly the St. Augustine Amphitheatre) on Sunday, May 19, 2019. Special guests will be Blue October and Flora Cash. The party begins at 5:20 p.m.
Originally a punk-rock band that formed in Mesa, Arizona, Jimmy Eat World has grown their sound to include slower tempos and more varied structures in their music, producing nine studio albums over two decades. The band consists of lead guitarist/lead vocalist Jim Adkins, drummer Zach Lind, rhythm guitarist/vocalist Tom Linton, and bassist Rick Burch. Their most recent album is Integrity Blues.
Taking Back Sunday has also been making music for 20 years and has had several member changes over the years, but the current lineup (vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, drummer Mark O’Connell, and bassist Shaun Cooper) have all been there from the beginning. From their 2002 debut Tell All Your Friends to 2016's Tidal Wave, Taking Back Sunday has evolved into a genre-defying rock band with three gold albums. Their most recent release is Twenty.
