The Alarm

Early '80s Welsh rock band The Alarm will perform in a live concert at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.

Please Note: This event is from 2018

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents the groundbreaking early '80s Welsh rock band The Alarm live in concert on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

When The Alarm released their debut single, "Unsafe Building," in 1981, they were described as "Bob Dylan meets The Clash." They went on to produce 17 top 50 UK singles and a number of successful albums, adding up to over 5 million sales worldwide. The group headlined the "Spirit of '86 Concert" before 26,000 fans in Los Angeles, which was transmitted worldwide in MTV's first live global satellite broadcast.

The Alarm suffered a number of setbacks in the '90s, including an identity crisis, and band members were then hit hard by the illness of lead singer Mike Peters, which was first diagnosed in 2005. But the band continued to tour whenever Mike's treatment regime allowed, and they have since resumed a regular touring and recording schedule, releasing Superchannel and the live anthem "Never Give Up Without a Fight."

Mike Peters is co-founder of the Love Hope Strength Foundation, which seeks to raise funds and awareness to benefit people with cancer and leukemia.
