The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall will present country/punk/rock singer/songwriter Alejando Escovedo in concert on Sunday, June 5, 2016.
Escovedo has been called "the godfather of modern country rock" by Rolling Stone Magazine and "a punk warrior with Texas swagger" by The New Orleans Advocate, but he himself says, "A working musician is all I ever wanted to be." With a career that has taken him from Texas to California and New York and back to Texas over four decades, he has been that and much more.
Escovedo started out playing the San Francisco punk scene in the 1970s, went on to pioneer his blend of country and punk in the 1980s, and finally moved back to Austin, where he embraced a wide range of Americana music. and found the sense of freedom that allowed him to take his music to new places.
