Ancient City Con 2018

  • Ancient City Con is a Northeast Florida comic convention happening in St. Augustine at the Renaissance Resort the weekend of September 7–9, 2018. The headlining guest list includes Billy West, known for his voice work in Ren and Stimpy, as Fry in Futurama, and in the new Netflix Original series Disenchantment created by Matt Groening. Another featured celebrity actor is Janeshia Adams-Ginyard who's known for her stunt double work in Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War for Danai Gurira, American Horror Story, and Fear the Walking Dead. She is also a wrestler with Women of Wrestling playing Frost "The Olympian."

    Visitors to the comic convention can dress up in cosplay, partake in table gaming, and attend panels, photo ops, and other scheduled events.

    Gaming

    The d20 Gamespot game room includes titles like Star Wars X-Wing, Star Wars Legion, Blood Bowl, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer 40K, Pokemon tcg, Yugioh tcg, Magic the Gathering, and Red Dragon Inn.

    Also present will be D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) Adventurers League Jacksonville. The will be giving 2-hour sessions for newcomers to role-playing games and plenty of gaming for regulars.

    Dice for Brains, an actual play podcast, will also be on site. They use original music and sound effects for an authentic gaming experience, and regularly invite newbies to join. 

    Tickets

    Available tickets include a day pass, a weekend pass, and a VIP pass. Day passes for Friday are $15, for Saturday are $20, and for Sunday are $15. An additional processing fee is added on when tickets are purchased online. The VIP Pass includes weekend admission, 1x custom Ancient City Con t-shirt made on-site by Print Studio Jax. Color and size are chosen at the venue. The VIP Pass also includes a commemorative gift of 1x Limited Edition Art Print by comic artist Jenivieve Broomall. The VIP pass also grants early access to the show and to after-events.

    Admission: VIP Pass is $65, Weekend Pass is $35, Friday Pass is $15, Saturday Pass is $20, Sunday Pass is $15.

    When: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday September 7–9, 2018. Friday show hours are 12–6 p.m., Saturday show hours are 10 a.m.–10 p.m., Sunday show hours are 12–6 p.m.

    Where: At the Renaissance Resort in World Golf Village, north of St. Augustine, Florida.
