"Battle of the Bands" at Panama Hatties will feature 6 local bands singing it out for the title of Most Popular Band voted on by the audience! Eclipse Recording Studio is sponsoring the event and will award the top 4 bands with free recording time, CD's, publicity, and some cash.

The contest works by applause reading, so after each band plays a set of 45 minutes; its up to the audience to applaud for an applause meter reading. Each band's reading will be noted and after the last band's performance, the band with the highest reading will be chosen as #1, second highest reading #2 and so on.

Each band competing in this live battle has been in a "popularity" contest through Eclipse Recording Studio's Facebook. Through on-line voting, each of these 6 bands has been chosen as one of the top six contestants to perform.

The Lineup:

6:00 - 6:45: Ancient City Slickers - They have been a band for over 10 years and continue to rock, calling their style of music, "Big, Fun Music"! Ancient City Slickers plays a mixture of Folk, Bluegrass, Americana and Pop music! They have several CD's available at Sea Bridge Landing on Anastasia Island. They have performed at the Florida Folk Festival, The Barberville Spring fling and Pioneer Days, The Ormond Beach Seafood Fest and River Fest, The Summer Concert Under The Stars in downtown St. Augustine and many more!

7:00 - 7:45: Brent Byrd Acoustic Music - Brent has been touring the U.S. for the past 2 years in his 20 foot RV. Brent's musical style is an eclectic mix between Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, The Black Crowes and Bob Dylan! Brent has completed two full-length albums and has a style that sounds familiar through his unique influences of reggae, rock, jam band and jazz music.

8:00 - 8:45: Liquid Spiral - This band was formed in 2009 by Angello, Jarrett and Julian. Their musical influences include Carlos Santana, Incubus, Mariachi Cobre, Tito Puente, System of a Down and Chopin and many more. Band members include Julian Vasquez (Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Angello Garcia (Lead Guitar), Jarrett Love (Keyboards), Jose Figueroa (Bass), Gordon Hanson (Drums) and Jorge Jimenez (Percussion). The name of the band symbolizes how nature uses circles to move through time, and spirals are the living product of that process.

9:15 - 10:00: NEVAEH - Is a band with a message, their motto "pointing people to Heaven one song at a time". NEVAEH performs contemporary Christian rock music and strives to glorify the Lord with their songs. Through each of the band members talents the band formed in Palm Coast, Florida. Musical influences of this band include Point of Grace, Amy Grant, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, Larnelle Harris, Babbie Mason, and more!

10:15 11: Simple Jack - This band plays a range of songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Rebelution and writes and performs original Reggae/Punk/Ska songs. The band formed in 2011 when two of the band members began jamming out together over a shared appreciation of 90s music. Soon, Simple Jack transformed into a 5 member band including Bassist Tyler Hargrove, Lead Guitarist Chris Supik and Drummer Brian Gummere, Rhythm Guitarist Jarrod White and Vocalist Shaun Miller. Originality and energy are the keys to Simple Jack's music.

11:15 12: EFen - EFen was formed in 2009 by brothers Bim (on drums) and Rich Bowman (guitarist/singer). They have recently brought on bassist Ryan Walker and lead guitarist Kirby Stanley. EFen is a dedicated and talented band, playing all over North Florida and even opening for bands like Korn, Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch and Evanescence. Their musical influences range from Rush, to Dream Theater, to Stray Cats ' Guns and Roses, Pantera and many more!

The individual band's audience does not need to stay the whole night. At the end of each band's set, the audience can either leave or stay as long as they care to. "Battle of the Bands" will be held at Panama Hatties located beachside directly across from St. Augustine Beach Pier Park.
