Bird Walk at Fort Mose

Fort Mose State Park offers a free Guided Bird Walk on select dates in January, February, and March 2020:
Date in 2020 Start Time Sunday, January 12 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 15 8:00 a.m. Sunday, February 9 8:00 a.m. Sunday, March 8 8:00 a.m.
The two-hour walk will be led by a park volunteer, and is free for anyone who would like to participate.
The Fort Mose is located along the Atlantic Flyway and boasts several natural environments where birds thrive, including an estuarine tidal marsh, a maritime hammock, and "Rookery Island," which is home to many nesting species in the spring. Guests can expect to see herons, egrets, wood storks, hawks, woodpeckers, and owls.
Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring binoculars, water, comfortable walking shoes, and a field guide if they have one.
Admission: The guided bird walk is free and open to the public. Entrance to the grounds of Fort Mose is also free, although there's a $2.00 fee to enter the Visitor Center.
