The Castillo de San Marcos presents a special Candlelight Tour on Saturday, March 26, 2016, that focuses on the role that women have played in the various eras of St. Augustine's diverse history.
The National Park Service presents this evening program as part of Women's History Month. The guided tours, led by park rangers, take visitors back through time, as they meet re-enactors portraying significant women of St. Augustine's history and hear their stories.
The Castillo de San Marcos National Monument is the oldest stone fortification in the United States. The park offers candlelight tours monthly to allow visitors to take in the special beauty of the Castillo at night.
Admission: Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 - 15, and free for children under 5. Tickets are available two weeks in advance at the ticket booth or by calling (904) 829-6506, ext. 233. Tours are limited to 30 people per tour, so tickets may sell out.
When? Saturday, March 26, 2016, with tours on the half hour from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Where? The Castillo de San Marcos is located at 1 S. Castillo Dr. in historic St. Augustine.
