On Saturday, May 9, 2020, the Castillo de San Marcos offers two presentations (at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.) reenacting the historical change of flags ceremony between the Spanish and the British in St. Augustine.

Visitors can experience first-hand this important moment of history, when Spain ceded its north Florida holdings to the British in 1763. The Spanish banner is lowered and replaced by the British flag, in a ceremony that includes the Exchange of the Keys.

National Park Service staff, volunteers, and the St. Augustine Garrison will stage the reenacted ceremonies, each a half hour long.

Admission: The presentations are free with regular park admission, which is $15.00 per adults (ages 16 and up) and free for ages 15 and younger.

When: Saturday, May 9, 2020, 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Where: The Castillo is located at 1 S. Castillo Drive in downtown St. Augustine.
