The National Park Service, in partnership with Florida Living History, will host a day of special activities at the Castillo de San Marcos, "Come All You Bold Heroes: The British in Fort St. Mark," on Saturday, February 29, 2020. The day will be full of activities that focus on the winter of 1779, when the British controlled St. Augustine and "Fort St. Mark."

Throughout the day, reenactors will portray various positions in the British army. Visitors will be greeted by reenactors representing some of the women of the regiment, who will explain the role of camp followers in the British army. After listening to a stirring speech, you might find yourself recruited into the service of the Crown in a British Loyalist regiment. Also, a Quartermaster will talk about the supplies that were needed and the rations provided to each soldier.

Musket and cannon demonstrations will take place throughout the day.

Admission: Admission to the Castillo de San Marcos is $15.00 for adults 16 years and over and free for children 15 and under.

When: Reenactments and historical demonstrations will take place within the Castillo from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

Where: The Castillo de San Marcos is located on the bayfront in historic St. Augustine, at 1 S. Castillo Drive.
