First Coast Opera presents fully staged performances of The Pirates of Penzance, on March 15 and 17, 2023, at Lewis Auditorium.

Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta, The Pirates of Penzance premiered in New York in 1879 and was largely well-received and highly praised. The music, patter, and parodies of other works were a delight to the audience. Since then, Pirates of Penzance has been a favorite of opera companies and audiences. In St. Augustine, Nelson Sheeley directs the performance, and the cast includes Tyler Putnam as Pirate King, Sarah Nordin as Ruth, Caroline Goodwin as Mabel, Stephen Ash as Frederick, and Jason Whitfield as Sergeant of Police.

First Coast Opera serves Northeast Florida with professional opera performances for the community's education, cultural enhancement, and enjoyment. They strive to offer artistic excellence and are committed to developing local talent.

Admission: $70.00 for preferred seating, $50.00 for general admission, and $20.00 for a student ticket. First Coast Opera has more information and a link to tickets.
