Step back in time at this one-of-a-kind seminar discussing the history of St. Augustine in the First World War (1914-1918). On Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Flagler College's visiting German history professor, Dr. Helmut Flachenecker, will lead a lecture deep-diving into the war's positive and negative effects on the tourism industry and the community's daily lives.
The seminar lecture is from 9:00 to 11:15 a.m. followed by a short two-block walk to Flagler College's grandeur dining hall — formerly Ponce de Leon Hotel. A buffet lunch will be provided from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more event details and information, visit here.
