Pulitzer Center Executive Director Jon Sawyer and Contributing Editor Kem Knapp Sawyer will speak at at the Lewis Auditorium on January 29, 2015, as part of Flagler College's Forum on Government and Public Policy series.

The two journalists will discuss the topic, "Brave New World: Telling Global Stories in a New Media Age," in which they will address the challenges of covering global news during this transitional period from legacy media to web overload and the new approaches toward addressing those challenges by non-profits like the Pulitzer Center.

They'll also discuss their 2014 e-book Congo's Children, an account of young people's lives in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Jon and Kem have reported together from India, Bangladesh, Haiti and the Democratic Republic of Congo, for outlets that include The Washington Post, The Atlantic, PBS NewsHour, and Christian Science Monitor.

Flagler College's Forum on Government and Public Policy brings nationally recognized journalists, commentators, and speakers to St. Augustine to discuss issues at hand in regional, state, and federal government. This forum has promoted intellectual talk about government and public policy for over 30 years at Flagler College.
