  • The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents Galactic, the New Orleans instrumental funk band, with special guest Anjelika Jelly Joseph, on Thursday, November 4, 2020.

Galactic performs their own brand of New Orleans funk, and each successive album adds to their core of R & B, jazz, and funk. Their newest album — the first in three years — Already Already Already, has a more contemporary approach with the addition of modern rhythms and instrumentation that's decidedly on the electronic side. The band's members have described what they do as starting with the funk and jazz of their hometown of New Orleans and continually try to do something new with it, including taking elements from music they've enjoyed while touring the world.

Galactic often brings relatively unknown singers to their studio and to their stage. On November 4, they will be joined by Anjelika Jelly Joseph, another New Orleans native who has toured a number of groups, such as Tank and the Bangers and the all-female brass band Original Pinettes.
