Gamble Rogers Benefit Concert feat. Swampcandy

Gamble Rogers Folk Festival Inc. presents a benefit concert at the Standard featuring the touring duo Swampcandy and local bands, Lonsesome Bert and the Skinny Lizards and The Skinny.

Swampcandy is an eclectic duo creating rhythmic, foot-stomping blues and cross-genre music that will get your heart pumping! This duo has toured the entire U.S. and even the U.K.! The duo is comprised of Ruben Dobbs, vocalist and guitar player and upright bass player/kick drummer Joey Mitchell. The duo is inspired by all genres of music, focusing on blues, country, rock, bluegrass and folk. Swampcandy's style is too unique to describe, and must be seen live to feel the full effects of their music! This band brings their honest, old-school stomp music to St. Augustine for the Gamble Rogers Benefit Concert.

Lonesome Bert and the Skinny Lizard DUO will perform at this event. Enjoy the story-telling music and fun melodies from singer/songwriter and guitarist Bert Hodge and upright bassist singer/songwriter Chris Clark! All the lizards got together when Chris Clark, with his stand-up bass joined in with Lonesome Bert Hodge and his drummer friend Steve Mitherz the three found their combined sound was electric. Later Lonesome Bert's high-energy and bouncy sound was complimented with the sound of an electric fiddle by new member, Mark Saunders.

The Skinny is husband and wife musical duo, Taylor and Pamela Fausset. The couple plays music that is inspired by their lives and the world around them. They draw inspiration from many artists including Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Greg Brown, Nina Simone and many more. Their sound is powerful and draws in audience members of all ages!

This exciting event will benefit the 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, Gamble Rogers Folk Festival Inc. This benefit concert will be held at the Standard and doors open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. Ticket prices are $10. The Standard puts on many events and concerts. This venue is excellent for any concert or performer! The Standard offers a full bar as well.
