"Hidden Pictures" Screening

This screening of the acclaimed documentary about the global epidemic of silence surrounding mental health issues will be held in honor of National Mental Health Awareness Month.

In recognition of National Mental Health Awareness Month, the Corazon Cinema and Café will host a public screening of the critically-acclaimed documentary "Hidden Pictures" on Saturday, May 6, 2017. The event is presented by the Volusia/Flagler/St. Johns chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

"Hidden Pictures" explores the struggles faced by the 450 million people living with mental illness worldwide. The documentary includes personal stories about bipolar illness, depression, and schizophrenia in India, China, African, France, and the U.S., revealing a global epidemic of silence around mental illness.

The documentary was produced by award-winning filmmaker and physician Delaney Ruston, who draws on her personal experience of growing up with her father's schizophrenia to approach the subject with expertise and compassion. The event will include a panel discussion of local leaders.

Admission: Suggested donation to the screening is $20, which includes lunch.
