The Lightner Museum presents "Promenade the Alcazar," a free art exhibition that showcases the works of artists from St. Augustine and around Florida who participated in a special art contest to commemorate the upcoming 130th anniversary of the former Hotel Alcazar. The exhibit will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily from Wednesday through Monday, July 25 through 30, 2018.

50 artists were involved in the Lightner Museum's first art contest, which invited participants to capture the mood and style of the Alcazar Hotel (where the Lightner Museum is now located), which thrived during St. Augustine's Gilded Age. The winning artwork will be used to highlight the Alcazar Hotel's anniversary, and well as the 70th anniversary of the Lightner Museum, on October 19, 2018.

In addition to the winner selected by Lightner Museum staff, there will be a people's choice award. Voting will be conducted during the exhibit's run.

Guests should use the Café Alcazar doors on either Granada St. or Cordova St. to access the exhibit.
