Ann McCutchan's book, The Life She Wished to Live: A Biography of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, was released in 2021. Described as comprehensive and engaging, the book examines the life of the tough, ambitious Rawlings, her writing style, accomplishments, and challenges. 

The lunch and learn event on Saturday includes a tour of the Peña Peck house, a buffet picnic lunch, and a talk with Ann McCutchan, a trained classical clarinetist and accomplished author. McCutchan's prior books have been about music, composers, and the Space Coast.

Rawlings won the 1939 Pulitzer Prize for The Yearling. In her biography of Rawlings, McCutchen reveals the legendary author, her contemporaries, her friendships, and the people who inspired her. For this lunch and learn, McCutchen will focus on how Zora Neale Hurston and another woman friend changed her life.
