Meet the FOAR from Home Team

The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum will host the Trans-Atlantic Rowing Team FOAR from Home on Saturday, July 24, 2021.

Please Note: This event is from 2021

FOAR from Home, a team of 4 U.S. military veterans, will row across the Atlantic Ocean in the 2021 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge — a race of 3000 miles from Spain's Canary Islands to Antigua in the Eastern Caribbean. The public is invited to meet the team and see their boat on Saturday, July 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ximenez-Fatio House.

The FOAR from Home team are four U.S. military veterans: Paul Lore, USMC Veteran; Billly Cimino, Army Veteran; Cameron Hansen, Air Force Veteran; and Hupp Huppmann, Navy Veteran. They are supported by a number of friends, family, and area businesses from Northeast Florida who share their goal of reducing veteran suicide. FOAR From Home hopes to raise awareness of veteran suicide and PTSD, and to raise $500,000 for veterans programs in Northeast Florida, including K-9 for Warriors, Fire Watch, and Now Veteran Need.

The Ximenez- Fatio House will open their lawn to FOAR from Home, who will bring their vessel, the Courageous to St. Augustine to help raise awareness for their cause. In addition, K-9 for Warriors will be at the event with a dog that is in training, and there will be food, beverages, music, and children's activities. There is no fee to enter the grounds, meet the FOAR from Home team, and participate in the activities.

The National Society of the colonial Dames of America in the State of Florida are pleased to host this event at the Ximenez-Fatio House.
