Ripley's Red Trains will be hosting K9s for Warriors onboard the sightseeing trains on Saturday, July 16, 2016. As part of their training as service animals for military veterans, the dogs are socialized as much as possible, which includes riding various forms of transportation with their trainers.

There will be 10 dogs and 20 trainers riding the trains on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. at the Old Sugar Mill Train Station at 254 San Marco Ave. Guests are welcome to come see them off and interact with these representatives of one of the many amazing services provided by man's best friend.

K9s for Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to our warriors suffering from post-traumatic stress disability, traumatic brain injury and other traumas as a result of military service post 9/11. Their goal is to empower them to return to civilian life with dignity and independence. The dogs being trained are also getting a new "leash" on life, as they are all rescue animals.

Admission: Free to meet the dogs at the Old Sugar Mill Train Station. Regular admission rates apply for riding the train: a 1-Day Pass is $20.99 for adults and $8.99 for children ages 5 to 11; a 3-Day Pass is $23.99 for adults and $9.99 for children ages 5 to 11; a 5-Day Pass is $26.99 for adults and $10.99 for children ages 5 to 11. Children under 5 are always free.

When: Saturday, July 16, 2016, beginning at 10 a.m.

Where: The Old Sugar Mill Train Station is located at 254 San Marco Avenue, just north of downtown St. Augustine.
