
Romanza: Opera Concert 'Songs of Love’
As part of St. Augustine's Romanza Festivale, First Coast Opera musicians Lisa Lockhart (soprano), Emily Heumann (mezzo soprano) and Dirk McCoy (baritone) will perform May 15, 2021, at Ancient City Baptist Church.
The trio will present "Songs of Love" featuring Italian Art songs, arias and love songs from a modern popular repertoire.
In addition to performing with First Coast Opera, Lockhart is a vocal instructor with more than 30 years in the business. She has appeared on stages throughout the U.S. and Europe. She has sung numerous international performances of Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess" as Serena or Bess. Other notable appearances include the title roles in Madama Butterfly and Aida, the Mother in "Amahl and the Night Visitors," Leonora in "Il Trovatore" and Donna Elvira in "Don Giovanni."
Heumann has performed with dozens of companies including St. Petersburg Opera Company, First Coast Opera, Opera Orlando, The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra, Rec Room Arts, The Savannah Voice Festival, Operativo Houston and The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.
McCoy has demonstrated his singing chops in operatic roles throughout the U.S. including Marcello in Pasta & Puccini/La Boheme" with First Coast Opera, Gulielmo in "Cosi Fan Tutte" with the Mid-Ohio Opera Company and King Mechior in "Amahl and the Night Visitors" with the Shakespeare Opera Theatre in Virginia.
