Shovels & Rope with guest Matthew Logan Vasquez

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presents indie folk duo Shovels & Rope with special guest Matthew Logan Vasquez in concert on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 8:00 p.m.

Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent were successful solo artists before they connected in Charleston, South Carolina, to form Shovels & Rope. Their voices harmonize naturally and their philosophies match as well, making for a beautiful partnership and an innovative sound and style. With their strong country, bluegrass, blues and folk influences, Shovels & Rope perform with an energy and passion that is hard to match in today's music.

The founder of critically-acclaimed band Delta Spirit, Matthew Logan Vasquez returned to Austin, Texas, in 2015 and released his solo debut EP, Austin, in November of that year. He has lived in Brooklyn and California as well, and all those influences can be heard in his music. According to Jay Sweet, producer of the Newport Folk Festival, Vasquez is "... a transplant and a vagabond, which is why he embodies folk and rock music. For a singer-songwriter, he is truly refreshing."

Admission: Tickets are all general admission standing: $28.50 if purchased in advance and $31.50 if purchased on the day of the show.

Where: The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is located at 1050 A1A North in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Parking Information: Parking is available onsite for events at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. For ticketed events, parking is $5.00; for free events parking is free. For events not produced by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, parking fees are at the discretion of the event producer.
