Friday - Sunday, October 20 - 22, 2017 at St. Augustine Shipyard
The St. Augustine Spanish Wine Festival celebrates Spanish food and wine from Friday, October 20, to Sunday, October 22, 2017. The Festival offers Spanish food and wine for visitors and locals to enjoy at a variety of events over three days, showcasing the many aspects of Spanish influence on the culinary scene in St. Augustine. The Festival has been rescheduled from its original September dates due to Hurricane Irma.
This year, the Spanish Wine Festival will be held at a new location, the St. Augustine Shipyard. This exciting new venue overlooking the San Sebastian River in downtown St. Augustine is a multipurpose facility, with shops, meeting facilities, a marina, and the upcoming and highly anticipated tag! Children's Museum. The Shipyard and Wells Fargo are sponsoring this year's Spanish Wine Festival.
From fireworks and gourmet dinners to wine tastings and a hilarious wine battle that is fast becoming a St. Augustine tradition, the Spanish Wine Festival is three days of celebrating Spanish food, wine, and culture in the nation's oldest city.
The Cava Reception and Dinner launches the Festival weekend, featuring a four-course dinner paired with Spanish wine, on Friday, October 20, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. A fireworks display will follow the dinner.
The Cochinillo Asado is from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21. This is a picnic with Spanish-style roast pig served with Spanish wine and beer. The Batalla de Vino, an outrageous wine fight in the Spanish tradition of the “batalla” where participants dressed in white battle one another with wine-filled squirt guns, will be held during this event, from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m
The Festival concludes with the Grand Tasting on Sunday, October 22, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. More than 100 Spanish wine are available to sample, accompanied by Spanish-inspired hors d'oeuvres.

The St. Augustine Record Empty Stocking Fund provides a helping hand to those who need assistance during the holidays. Supported by donors and started 35 years ago, the fund provides assistance for applicants to buy food, clothing and toys. In 2016, the program provided more than $117,000 to residents in the St. Johns County community. One hundred percent of the donations collected go directly to local families in need.
