The Spanish Wine Festival celebrates the 500th birthday of St. Augustine founder Pedro Menéndez in 2019 as it showcases the city's Spanish heritage in food, wine, and entertainment.

  • The St. Augustine Spanish Wine Festival celebrates the 500th birthday of city founder Pedro Menéndez in 2019 from Friday, February 15, to Sunday, February 17. The Festival offers Spanish food and wine for visitors and locals to enjoy at a variety of events over three days, showcasing the many aspects of Spanish influence on the culinary scene in St. Augustine.

    From birthday celebrations to gourmet dinners and specialty wine tastings, the Spanish Wine Festival is three days of celebrating Spanish food, wine, and culture in the nation's oldest city.

    The Cava Reception and Dinner launches the Festival weekend on Friday, February 15, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. The event will be held at the stunning Solarium at Flagler College, with a Spanish-inspired dinner that pairs each course with the perfect Spanish wine.     Plans are being finalized for the event on Saturday, February 16, and will be posted here as soon as the information is available.

    The Festival concludes with the Grand Tasting at the River House on Sunday, February 17, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. More than 100 Spanish wine are available to sample, accompanied by Spanish-inspired hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $75 per person.

    Where: Events take place at various venues in St. Augustine's historic district. The Solarium is located on the Flagler College Campus at 74 King Street. The River House is located at 179 Marine St., just south of the downtown area.

    Proceeds from the St. Augustine Spanish Wine Festival benefit local charities. Since the festival began, more than $325,000 has been donated to local charities. This year's charities are Flagler College's Hospitality and Tourism Management Program, St. Johns County Council on Aging and SAiRA Foundation.
