The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall welcomes the return of progressive rock guitarist Steve Hackett on his "Selling England by the Pound" tour on Friday, April 23, 2021.

Once the lead guitarist with Genesis as part of their classic lineup, Steve Hackett was first introduced to music through classical influences such as Johann Sebastian Bach and opera performer Mario Lanza. Hackett began performing music at an early age, and began experimenting with guitar at the age of 12. From the beginning, Hackett was influenced by progressive rock and joined Genesis in 1971. His contribution to the band was extensive and he helped produce the acclaimed 1973 album, Selling England by the Pound. This fifth studio album reached #3 in the United Kingdom and reached RIAA gold in the United States.

Hackett left Genesis in 1977 after the release of the band's eighth studio album, The Wind and the Wuthering. Hackett released his first solo album, Voyage of the Acolyte, while still with Genesis in 1975. The album reached #26 on the U.K. albums chart and gained silver sales status there as well. Hackett released twenty-two other solo studio albums throughout his extensive career.

Hackett and the other members of Genesis were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. The early 1970s lineup of Genesis has only reunited once since Hackett left the band. The mid eighties not only saw the hit single "Cell 151", but also the Steve Hackett and Steve Howe super group GTR, who were highly successful in America. After GTR Hackett worked further with many renowned musicians such as Paul Carrick, Bonny Tyler, John Wetton and Brian May, who has credited Hackett as an early influence. Steve Hackett went on to produce his hit album Genesis Revisited.

Steve Hackett is touring to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the acclaimed album, Selling England by the Pound.
