Woman's Exchange Fall Luncheons

The Woman's Exchange has cancelled their Fall Luncheons for 2020, due to precautions surrounding the COVID-19 emergency. The twice-yearly luncheons will resume in the spring of 2021.

The information below pertains to the 2019 Fall Luncheons.

The Woman's Exchange of St. Augustine hosts its annual Christmas in October luncheons on Tuesdays and Fridays (and one Thursday) in 2019: October 22, 25, 29, and 31, and November 5, 8, and 12. The luncheons take place at noon in the gardens of the historic Peña-Peck House Museum, and guests are welcome to browse in the Exchange Shop and Christmas in October shops either before (beginning at 10:30 a.m.) or after the meal.

The Christmas in October Luncheons are a St. Augustine tradition, going back to the late 1940s, when local hotels reopened for tourists after World War II. The weekly luncheons at the Peña-Peck House became popular with visitors, both for the lovely garden atmosphere and the delicious food. The setting remains as beautiful as ever, and so does the food — in fact, most of the dishes on the menu are made with original recipes. 

The Exchange shops feature hand-crafted products made by men and women from across the country, as they have been doing since 1892, when the National Federation of Woman's Exchanges first started the venue for hand crafters to sell their products. Seventy percent of the item sales go directly to the crafters, and the rest is used to maintain and promote the historic Pena-Peck House Museum. Some of the proceeds are also used to provide scholarships for women returning to school for career changes.

Tickets go on sale two months prior to the date of the first luncheon, and sell out very quickly. Please note that there is a new policy in effect which requires advance payment when making the reservation. Guests can pay by credit card over the phone, with cash if making the reservation in person, or by check, as long as the check is received within one week.

Admission: The cost of the luncheon is $31.95, which includes tea or coffee and dessert, plus a $5 coupon on a purchase of $10 or more in the Exchange shops. Tickets go on sale on August 1, 2019. Call (904) 829-5064 to make reservations and purchase tickets.

When: Tuesdays and Fridays in 2019: October 22 (Tuesday), 25 (Friday), 29 (Tuesday), 31 (Thursday), 5 (Tuesday), 8 (Friday), and 12 (Tuesday). Luncheon is served at noon. Guests may arrive as early as 10:30 a.m. to browse the shops.
