St. Paul AME Church
St. Paul A.M.E. was consecrated soon after the Civil War when the Philadelphia-based African Methodist Episcopal Church evangelized to ex-slaves in the South. Located in St. Augustine's historic Lincolnville neighborhood, the church's connection to African-American heritage made it a hotbed of Civil Rights activity.
Martin Luther King's presence there made it a famous landmark in St. Augustine's history. The church boasts one of the best choirs in town.
Although there are no guided tours, the public is welcome to visit the church during open hours.
