The St. Augustine Amphitheatre presents singer-songwriter Billy Strings in concert for three nights. The concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. each night from Friday to Sunday, April 19 to April 21, 2024. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Born William Apostol in Michigan, bluegrass performer Billy Strings had his initial musical exposure through his stepfather, Terry Barber. Under Barber's guidance, Strings embarked on his musical journey, officially launching his professional career in 2012. During this time, he crossed paths with Don Julin, a mandolin player from Traverse City, Michigan, and together, they began performing local gigs.
Recognized as a rising star by Acoustic Guitar in 2017 and honored as the Guitar Player of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2019, Strings also made notable guest appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and PBS.
Devoted bluegrass fans and enthusiasts avidly follow Strings' music, savoring his storytelling lyrics and masterful flat-picking guitar skills.
