Crescent Beach Challenge

A family-organized fundraiser to support those affected by leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related cancers, the Crescent Beach Challenge is now in its 21st year. This year's event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Marineland.

The Crescent Beach Challenge features 1K and 5K runs, several ocean events including swimming, kayaking, surfing, and standup paddleboarding, as well as two combined "Kahuna" events. In addition to the sporting events, the Crescent Beach Challenge offers a great way for a family to spend a day at the beach, with lots of activities and a cookout. The raffle tickets are $5 per entry or $20 per five entries.

Registration to participate is a $40 donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The kickoff party for the registration will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Genung's Fish Camp. Participants can sign up for the race here, pick up their T-shirts, and enjoy some refreshments.

Beach Runs

1K - 8 years and under
5K - 14 and under, Open, and 40+

Ocean Events:

1K Swim - Open
2K Surfboard - Open and 40+
4K Kayak
4K Standup Paddleboard

Combined "Kahuna" Events

5K Run + 2K Surfboard Paddle - Open, 40+, 60+

The Crescent Beach Challenge was started in 1999 in honor of Nancy Chellemi, mother of two, who died of leukemia in 1998. Money is raised through participant registration, contributions and sponsorships. All proceeds are donated to the North Florida Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which offers patient services, disseminates information, and supports research involving blood-related cancers. Over $350,000 has been donated to the Society in the previous 19 years from the Crescent Beach Challenge event.
