The St. Augustine Amphitheatre debuts their Front Porch Concert series with two free concerts on November 8 and 9, 2017. This free music series is open to everyone and all ages, featuring roots music under stately oaks on a front porch made for dancing.
Country music innovator Ray Wylie Hubbard will be the headliner on Thursday, November 9, 2017, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
In the 1970s, Ray Wylie Hubbard was one of the famed country music "outlaws," along with Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. As part of the vanguard of the Texas music scene, Hubbard was influential in bringing an iconoclastic sensibility to country music along with a "healthy dose of rock 'n' roll." Hubbard has been touring in support of his new release, The Ruffian's Misfortune. His autobiography, A Life … Well Lived, was published in 2015.
The Front Porch is a new area on the grounds of the St. Augustine Amphitheater that was officially unveiled in March 2017 and has become a popular spot for people to gather before concerts and other events. The Front Porch is sponsored by Canan Law Attorneys, with material for the porch donated by the St. Augustine Home Depot and the Palm Coast Home Depot.
