The St. Augustine Art Association will present a new exhibit, "Gilded: Impressions of the Flagler Era," that celebrates the legacy of the Gilded Age in St. Augustine in a juried show from May 5 to May 28, 2017. The show will display the results of the Plein Air Paint Out event, which invited artists to paint their choice of the landmarks, hotels, buildings, open spaces, and cityscapes that reflect the Flagler historic era.

The Paint Out event and the Gilded exhibit have been developed in anticipation of the Dressing Downton exhibit at the Lightner Museum, which will run from October 4, 2017 through January 7, 2018.

"Gilded: Impressions of the Flagler Era" is presented as part of the Romanza Festivale of the Arts. The exhibit will open during the First Friday Art Walk on May 5, from 5 to 9 p.m., and will run through May 28, 2017. Awards for the show total $2500, including a $1000 Best in Show prize.

Admission: Free.

When: The grand opening will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 5, and the exhibit will run through May 28, 2017. The St. Augustine Art Association is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sundays, and is closed on Mondays.

Where: The St. Augustine Art Association is located at 22 Marine Street in downtown St. Augustine.
