This spy-themed whodunit is an enjoyable blend of suspense and satire.

Please Note: This event is from 2016

The spy-savvy comedy The 39 Steps will be performed at the Limelight Theatre in St. Augustine, Florida, from April 15 to May 8, 2016. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday for the duration of the show. The play will be presented on the Limelight Theatre's Matuza Main Stage.

The 39 Steps is a winner of two Tony Awards and the 2007 winner of the Laurence Oliver Award for Best New Comedy. The play combines the suspenseful storycraft of Hitchcock with the dry witticism of Monty Python. Set in the 1930s, the play follows the story of an average man with an equally average life. At the beginning of the play, he meets a woman claiming to be a spy. Suddenly, his life is filled with murder, manhunts, and secret organizations. Written by Patrick Barlow, this comedy is rated PG-13.

Directed by the Limelight's Executive Director Beth Lambert, the production's cast includes Will Pettinger as Richard, Gisella Nieto as Anabella/Margaret/Pamela, Zachary McLean playing 12 characters, and Matthew Whaley playing 11 characters.
