Limelight Theatre: Fun Home

The Limelight Theatre presents the Broadway musical Fun Home from July 26 through August 25, 2019. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays, including a Preview Night on July 25 and a Terrific Tuesday showing on July 30, 2019.

This musical, adapted from Alison Bechdel's 2006 graphic memoir, focuses on the sexual awakening of the lead character and memoirist. As she strives to understand herself and her sexuality, her father is undergoing his own struggles as a closeted gay man, which end, unfortunately, with his suicide.

The original off-Broadway production of the musical opened in 2013. The Broadway show, which debuted in March 2015, was nominated for twelve Tony Awards (it won five,  including Best Musical). The cast album of Fun Home received a nomination for the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album

Admission: Regular admission tickets are $26.00. Tickets are $15.00 for Preview Night (July 25) and for Terrific Tuesday (July 30). Visit here to purchase tickets online.

When: Performances are on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 26 through August 25, 2019.  Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. except on Sundays, when there is a matinee showing at 2:00 p.m. There are two additional showings: the Preview Night on Thursday, July 25, and the Terrific Tuesday show on July 30, 2019.

Where: The Limelight Theatre is located at 11 Old Mission Ave. in the Uptown San Marco district. Free parking is available on the street and in the parking lot behind the theater.
