Limelight Theatre: Heathers The Musical

The Limelight Theatre presents Heathers The Musical, an off-Broadway production that was adapted from the 1988 cult film. The show will run from Thursday, July 19, to Sunday, August 19, 2018. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and at 2:00 p.m. and on Sundays throughout the show's run.

Heathers The Musical is a rock musical with music, lyrics, and a book by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy and based on the 1988 cult film Heathers. After a sold-out Los Angeles tryout, the show was produced Off-Broadway in 2014.

The dark comedy deals with issues of bullying, teen suicide, violence, and murder, as the three Heathers at Westerburg High School wreak havoc throughout the school. Veronica Sawyer and J.D. Dean team up to fight back, and that's when things get even more out of hand. The music, lyrics, and a book were written by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy, based on the 1988 cult film.

Heathers The Musical sold out when it debuted in Los Angeles in 2010, and went on to become a successful Off-Broadway production in 2014. The musical was nominated for Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Choreographer, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical in both the Drama Desk Awards and Lucille Lortel Awards in 2014.

Bradley Akers directs The Limelight Theatre's production of Heathers The Musical, with musical direction by Shelli Long and choreography by Missy Schmotzer as Choreographer. The cast features Ilana Gould, Brian Matthews, Bethany Paolini, Mara Grigg, Logen Cheatham, Catie Casey, Cameron Sparks, Craig Wickless, Cecilia Cristol, Bill Ratliff, Evan Gould, Rachel Cristol, Shannon Acevedo, Kianna Longhway, Jeno Tate, Noah Peacock and Austin Kelley.

Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. except on Sundays, when there is a matinee showing at 2:00 p.m. There are two additional showings: Preview Night is Thursday, July 19, and the Terrific Tuesday show is July 24.

Where: The Limelight Theatre is located at 11 Old Mission Ave. in the Uptown San Marco district. Free parking is available on the street and in the parking lot behind the theater.
