Limelight: "The Last Five Years"

Two twenty-somethings fall in and out of love in New York in the musical “The Last Five Years.”

The Limelight Theatre presents the musical "The Last Five Years" from July 29 to August 21, 2016. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays for the duration of the show. The play will take place in the Koger-Gamache Studio.

The musical "The Last Five Years" features the five-year relationship between rising novelist Jamie and struggling actress Cathy.  Set in New York, the musical has a unique storytelling approach. Jamie travels chronologically in time while Cathy travels from the end of their relationship back to the very beginning. The two characters only meet once in the middle of the show for their wedding. The musical is an emotionally explosive exploration of a relationship's anatomy.

The Limelight Theatre production of "The Last Five Years" is directed by Bradley Akers, with Shelli Long as Music Director, and features Jamie Wellerstein and Catherine Hiatt in the two main roles.

Admission: Tickets are $26. Tickets for the "Terrific Tuesday" show on August 2, 2016, are $15. For this show only, the Limelight is offering a special price of $15 for teachers.

When: From July 29 to August 21, 2016: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Preview night is 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28; special "Terrific Tuesday" show at 7:30 p.m. on August 2, 2016.

Where: The Limelight Theatre is located at 11 Old Mission Ave. in the Uptown San Marco district. Free parking is available on the street and in the parking lot behind the theater.
