The Limelight Theatre begins its 2016 - 2017 season with a lively production of Oklahoma!, which will run from Thursday, September 22, to Sunday, October 23, 2016. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays throughout the show's run.

Oklahoma! was the first musical written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. It opened on Broadway in 1943 and won a special Pulitzer Prize in 1944. Its appeal has not diminished over the decades.

The musical takes place in the Oklahoma territory at the turn of the 20th century and follows the romantic adventures of two cowboys as they struggle to win the hearts of the women they love.

Admission: Regular admission tickets are $26. Tickets for Preview Night (Sept. 22) and the Terrific Tuesday show (Sept. 27) are $15.

When: Performances are on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 23 to October 23, 2016. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. except on Sundays, when there is a matinee showing at 2:00 p.m. Preview night is Thursday, Sept. 22, and the Terrific Tuesday show is on Sept. 27, 2016.

Where: The Limelight Theatre is located at 11 Old Mission Ave. in the Uptown San Marco district. Free parking is available on the street and in the parking lot behind the theater.
