The Maine Concert

Alternative rock band The Maine will stop by the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in March 2022.

Please Note: This event is from 2022

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall will present alternative rock band The Maine at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

Despite sharing their name with a northeastern state, the Maine formed in 2007 in Tempe, Arizona, when most of the band members — singer John O'Callaghan, guitarists Kennedy Brock and Jared Monaco, bassist Garrett Nickelsen, and drummer Pat Kirch — were still in high school.

The Maine signed to Fearless Records and released a five-song concept EP, The Way We Talk, in 2007. After performing on the Vans Warped Tour one year later, the group issued a full-length debut album, Can't Stop Won't Stop, which was produced by emo-pop veteran Matt Squire (Simple Plan, Sum 41). The record peaked at No. 40 on the Billboard charts.

The Maine's music style has generally been regarded as alternative rock, pop punk, pop rock, emo pop and emo. Magazine Alternative Press has referred to them as neon pop-punk.

Current members include founding members O'Callaghan, Monaco, Nickelsen, Kirch and Kennedy Brock (rhythm guitar, backing vocals, lead guitar).

The Maine completed their seventh album, You Are OK, in March 2019. Two years later, in March 2021, the Maine returned with Sticky, the first single from their eighth album, XOXO: From Love and Anxiety in Real Time, which is out now.
