Starting July 10, 2016, The Spotlight Performers will present several performances of the musical Spring Awakening. The story explores themes of youth and rebellion, sexuality, mortality, and rock 'n' roll through the eyes of teenagers in a late 19th century German village.

Spring Awakening is based on Frank Wedekind's controversial play that was once banned in Germany. Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik adapted the storyline and created the score for this musical, translating its powerful themes for new audiences. The show contains strong subject matter and is appropriate for mature audiences only.

Admission: $20 per person.

When: Performances will be held at 2 p.m. on July 10; at 7:30 p.m. on July 15 and 16; and at 2 p.m. on July 17, 2016.

Where: The Pioneer Barn at Fort Menendez is located at 259 San Marco Avenue in St. Augustine, Florida 32084.
