On Sunday, July 14 at 4:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, the St. Augustine Film Society presents a French showing of Pierre Durand and his gold-medalist horse, Jappeloup (2013).
Directed by Christian Duguay, the film follows the true story of the show-jumping horse, Jappeloup de Luze, and equestrian Pierre Durand. As the duo progresses on the competition trail, the horse's flaws are perfected through hard work and persistence. After coming off a failure in the Los Angeles Olympics, all is in place for a stellar performance at the 1988 games in Seoul.
This event honors the Le Fete Nationale (France's national holiday) and the Paris 2024 Olympics. Continue celebrating by joining the Film Society at Pesca Vilano's rooftop for refreshments and appetizers.
