The St. Augustine Ultimate Summer Triathlon, presented by the PACT Prevention Coalition of St. Johns County and DRC Sports, takes place at Vilano Beach this year as a USAT Sanctioned Event. The triathlon consists of a 1/4-mile swim, 11-mile biking event, and a 3-mile run. Both parents and children are encouraged to participate.

Refreshments, music, and more will be featured at the event. The PACT Prevention Coalition aims to fight underage substance abuse using Prevention, Advocacy, Choices, and Teamwork. The race is limited to 400 participants, so early registration is encouraged. The day before the race, Saturday, August 16, 2014, Amici's Italian Restaurant is hosting a High-Carb Fundraiser Dinner for $25 per person. There will be mini-presentations and a silent auction. Packets for the race can be picked up at this time. Advanced tickets are required. Visit DRC Sports' PACT Triathlon page for specifics.

The weekend before the Triathlon, local business ProTriFit will be offering free clinics, one for biking and one for swimming.

Admission: Varies based on the date of registration and relay team vs. individual registration. The dinner at Amici's is $25 per person.

When? Triathlon: Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 6 a.m. Dinner: Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 6 - 8 p.m. Packet pickup from 5 - 7 p.m.

Where? Vilano Beach Pier and Pavillon, 2725 Anahma Drive, St. Augustine. Located just over the Vilano Bridge at the end of Vilano Rd.
