Styx and Don Felder

The iconic rock band Styx will perform with legendary guitarist Don Felder.

Please Note: This event is from 2018

The iconic rock band Styx comes to St. Augustine along with special guest Don Felder in a live concert at the Amphitheatre on Friday, April 13, 2018, at 7:00 p.m.

Styx is a multi-platinum band with fifteen studio albums released from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Their glam-rock look and progressive rock sound took Styx to the top of the charts in the 1980s, and they quickly became a household name. They are committed to "Rockin' the Paradise," and are well into their second decade of touring, with over 100 shows a year.

After the success of "Lady" the band went on to release "Come Sail Away" (#8, 1977), "Babe" (their first #1 hit in 1979), "The Best of Times" (#3, 1981), "Too Much Time on My Hands" (#9, 1981) and "Mr. Roboto" (#3, 1983). The band has four consecutive albums certified multi-platinum by the RIAA as well as sixteen top 40 singles in the U.S. The band's biggest hit was their concept album titled, Paradise Theater, which was supposed to be based on the rise and fall of a once-magnificent theater. Styx became one of America's top rock acts, touring the country and the world.

Don Felder is best known for his work as a lead guitarist for the Eagles from 1974 to 1980 and again from 1994 to 2001. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the rest of the Eagles band members in 1998. Felder originated the music and co-wrote The Eagles' biggest hit - the iconic, Grammy award-winning smash hit "Hotel California". His superb talent on the guitar is solely self-taught and he has since become an acclaimed author as well. After leaving the group in 2001, Felder also became a New York Times bestselling author when his confessional memoir Heaven and Hell: My Life in The Eagles proved a major commercial triumph upon publication in 2008.
