On Saturday, May 22, 2021, Mr. Kenneth McClain, grandson of Ms. Cora Tyson will lead a one-hour tour of Lincolnville, focused on the Civil Rights Movement and the neighborhood's African American heritage.
Ms. Tyson graduated from Excelsior High School — now the location of the Lincolnville Museum — and was a friend of Dr. Martin Luther King. Ms. Tyson hosted Dr. King and others when they planned their efforts during St. Augustine's Civil Rights movement.
Mr. McClain is an active member of the St. Augustine and Hastings Black communities and serves as a trustee of St. Paul's AME Church. He will share the history of the area and use the wealth of stories from his grandmother to give participants information and insights to Lincolvnville and her people. Admission: $25.00 per person, which includes entrance to the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Heritage Center after the walk. For tickets, go here.

Where: The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Heritage Center at 102 Martin Luther King Avenue, St. Augustine. Parking for guests will be available in the center's lot.
