X102.9 presents thrash-metal legends Slayer with guests Lamb of God and Behemoth in a live concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Friday, July 21, 2017.

The pit at a Slayer concert is known to be a dangerous place. This triple-billed concert at the Amphitheatre, with the ferocious Lamb of God and Behemoth added to the slate, promises to be intense, to say the least. The three heavy-metal groups are including St. Augustine in their six-week tour in the summer of 2017.

One of the “Big Four” in heavy metal (with Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax), Slayer has never wavered in their commitment to sonic assault, and are well known for refusing to commercialize their sound. Over the three decades of the group’s career, Slayer has accumulated a number of Gold Albums and has won Grammy awards.

Richmond, Virginia-based band Lamb of God released their first album, New American Gospel, in 2000, and were immediately hailed as a classic heavy-metal  band. Lamb of God has garnered a large and devoted fan following, selling millions of albums and tickets all over the world.

Behemoth has been one of the top extreme metal bands since their inception in 1991. Their tenth album, released in 2014, marked their triumphant return following the illness of their front man Adam “Nergal” Darski.
