  • The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, in partnership with Flying Saucer Presents, will welcome Patterson Hood in a live concert on the Backyard Stage on June 24, 2021.

    A prolific writer and performer, Hood is known for character-driven stories that are packed with political subtext. Best known as frontman, singer, songwriter and guitarist for the rock n’ roll band Drive-By Truckers, Hood also writes essays, columns and short stories.

    In addition to his work with the Drive-By Truckers, Hood has produced three solo albums.

    Born in Florence, Alabama, and raised near the Muscle Shoals area, Hood attended the University of Northern Alabama before relocating to Athens, Georgia, at age 30.

    Formed in 1996 out of Athens, Georgia, the Drive-By Truckers is an alternative country/Southern rock band that has released 13 albums and played over 2,000 shows in the past 19 years. They also released a 35-song, career-spanning box set in 2015 that was recorded live at The Fillmore in San Francisco.

    The limited-capacity concert will include safety measures such as contactless digital ticketing, face covering requirements and mobile ordering for concessions.

    Admission: General Admission Standing Room tickets for the Backyard Stage are $54 to $94.

    Parking Information: The Amp St. Augustine is located on Anastasia Island next to Anastasia State Park. Free parking in the Amphitheatre lot is available during all Backyard Stage performances.
