Romanza Presents ...

On Monday, May 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Romanza Festivale presents the Florida Storytelling Troupe relating tales about Florida ladies at the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum.

Rose van der Berg, Kathy Kniery, David Fussell, and Kathy Duffy, of the Florida Storytelling Troupe, are masters at telling true tales from years past—the most fun way to learn history. On May 12, they share "Ladies of Florida," relating stories from St. Augustine's Spanish era through the early 20th century.

Kathy Duffy will share stories about legendary women in Florida. David Fussell is a fifth-generation Floridian and has expert knowledge of former Governor William Duval and his wife, Nancy Duval. Retired teacher Kathy Kniery often performs with David. She has learned much about Mrs. Duval, and even more about the history and people of her adopted state. Rose van der Berg has an original sense of humor and loves to tell stories about unusual Florida ladies. The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum is a fitting location for these stories. From 1830 through 1875, the property was a boarding home, owned and managed by a succession of women.

The Florida Storytelling Troupe members enjoy tailoring their presentations for the audience and topic. They also teach the art of finding your family stories.

Admission: The event in the garden is free. You are welcome to purchase tickets to tour the museum before or after the event.

When: Monday, May 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Where: The Ximenez-Fatio House Garden, 20 Aviles Street, St. Augustine, Florida
