
A Walk on the Wild Side

Coronavirus Update: The State of Florida Parks Department has cancelled all events and programs at state parks. The parks remain open (on a limited schedule, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. only), but all special programs are cancelled.
Anastasia State Park will host several “Walk on the Wild Side" programs on selected dates from January to April 2020:
Date Start Time Monday, January 6 10 a.m. Sunday, January 19 10 a.m. Monday, February 3 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 19 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 16 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 3 10:0 a.m. Thursday, April 16 9:30 a.m. Participants can enjoy the beautiful shoreline as they learn more about the estuarine habitat of Salt Run and the maritime hammocks as well as the amazing array of wildlife and plants that are indigenous to the various ecosystems of Anastasia State Park.
Led by one of the Park's experienced volunteers, the two-hour walk begins at the shoreline, continuing up through the dunes and along the boardwalk over the salt marsh. The hike finishes up along Salt Run.
Guests are encouraged to bring binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, a camera, drinking water, bug spray, and sunscreen.
Admission: Free with park admission: $8.00 per vehicle (2 - 8 people), $4.00 per single-occupant vehicle, and $2.00 for pedestrians, bicyclists, and extra passengers.
