For over thirty years, locals and visitors in the town of Bunnell in Flagler County have lined up to have lunch or dinner at the original Bantam Chef location, home of their towering fish sandwich.
Now, owners Bob and Rhonda Kretzman have partnered with two other couples to open a second Bantam Chef, in St. Augustine. Here, they offer that famous fish sandwich, plus the fried seafood dinners, burgers, and sides available in the original restaurant.
The Bantam Chef restaurant in St. Augustine has opened in a renovated historic building on Grenada Street. Just as they have in Bunnell, they strive to provide good quality food that is not too expensive and they make their fish sandwiches exactly as they have in Bunnell.
The Bantam Chef is open for Lunch and dinner, seven days a week, and offer a variety of fried seafood dinners and sandwiches, as well as burgers, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets. Sides range from French fries and onion rings, to coleslaw, hush puppies, and fried oysters. Lemonade and soft drinks are also available.
