The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center hosts Jazz at the Excelsior with Akia Uwanda on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center was formerly the historic Excelsior High School, the first public high school for African-Americans in St. Augustine. Lincolnville Jazz at the Excelsior features talented artists performing in the renovated second-floor gathering space at 102 M.L.K., Jr. Avenue. (There is an elevator.)
The July Program
Akia Uwanda, a classically trained vocalist with an explosive style and impressive range, is also a songwriter. Uwanda has opened for Earth, Wind and Fire, Avery Sunshine, and others, and has shared the stage with jazz greats such as Gregory Porter and Kamasi Washington.
